Description: This project was undertaken to analyze and interpret well logs manually and through the software “TECHLOG”. The prime objective was to study the well logs of the given project area and to formulate a correlation to enhance the subsurface understanding.

Project Title: Horizontal Well Completion and Well Intervention
Description: The project was undertaken under the guidance of Mr. Atul Kumar Singh (Petroleum Engineer, Cairn India Pvt. Ltd.). The project was undertaken to gain knowledge of the completion jewellery, types of completion and completion items. The primary objective was to conduct a Case study on Completion and Intervention of a horizontal well of the CAIRN-INDIA onshore field.

• Institution: University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun.
• Project Title: “A study of Subsea Production Systems with a case analysis of Subsea Completions & Flow Assurance”
• Description: The project was undertaken in the supervision of Mr. Arun Chandel, Professor, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies. The project covered a detailed study of the Subsea Production Systems in comparison with other offshore production systems. Case studies of the “Heather Broom Field” for Subsea Completions and “Cottonwood Field” for the Flow Assurance Strategy were reviewed. Tubing Stress Analysis was performed for the Heather Broom Field using “Landmark – WellCat” software. Numerical analysis of a North Sea Field for flow assurance was carried out using Back-Pressure Method and Average Pressure Method.
Minor Project:

• Project Title: “Stage Cementing Operations”
• Description: The project was undertaken to perform a comparative study of the Primary and Secondary Cementing process. The project gave an insight of the different equipments used in the cementing process.

• Visited Cairn India‘s Mangala and Rageshwari field as part of the industrial tour.
• Visited Oil India‘s Drilling site in Rajasthan as part of the industrial tour.
