Resume: WORK EXPERIENCE

Secure Energy Services, Edmonton, AB Jan. 2018 – Present Jr. Technical Representative: Production Chemicals
•In a small team, trialled various production chemicals (emulsion breakers and paraffin dispersants) in an oil and gas battery to improve overall throughput by decreasing the time for phase separation to occur.
•With the same team, realized an increased water throughput from the free water knock out processing vessel from 300 to 540 meters cubed. This manifested as a 66% reduction in trucking costs for our customer.
•Tested alternative raw materials which resulted in a 20% reduction in the cost of goods while maintaining performance for a given emulsion breaker used in the Buck Creek field.
•Drafted a Request for Proposal document detailing the test results and optimal application of corrosion inhibitors, paraffin dispersants, and emulsion breakers for the Swan Hills field.

Secure Energy Services, Calgary, AB July 2016 – Dec. 2017Chemical EIT: Enhanced Oil Recovery
•Responsible for creating accurate calibration curves for absorbance measuring equipment which resulted in improved concentration determination of polymer solutions being injected into a formation near Slave Lake.
•Troubleshooting plant operations while changing to a new polymer product, this included monitoring and on-site testing to ensure concentration and viscosity targets were met.

Altran Group, Calgary, AB Summer, 2015Engineering Intern
•Formatted equipment data sheets to create a starting point for senior engineers to use when purchasing equipment.
•Used Excel to build design spreadsheets for 2 and 3 phase oil and water separators enabling a quick approximation of separator dimensions given unique operating parameters.

Daishowa-Marubeni International, Peace River, AB May 2014 – July 2014 Process Engineering Intern
•Consolidated Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) into 2 new operating screens allowing operators to evaluate pulp mill processes at a glance.
•Analyzed large data sets in MS Excel and aided in identifying choke points in the chemical process allowing management to address problem areas.
•Applied knowledge of fluid dynamics to calculate flow rates from unique piping configurations to aid senior process engineers in their work.
